Hiya! I’m Bailey (she/her), though I also go by Beebee. I’m a trans, autistic writer originally from Massachusetts. My poetry and prose have appeared in Oddball Magazine, New Words Press, and Moonstone Press’ S/He Speaks: Voices of Women, Trans & Nonbinary Folx.I write about grief, queerness, and people doing their best to understand one another. Outside of writing, I draw, obsessively organize things, occasionally dress up in fursuit, and stream online while being a goofy goober. I can also rarely be found without a cup of tea or iced coffee nearby.I’m the author of the upcoming Between a Cup of Time & Tea, my debut novel about a trans autistic woman traveling through a ruined fantasy world in the hope of helping her wife. It releases in late 2026.

Where do you get your story ideas?
I'm queer, autistic, and really like dragons. So any idea comes from one of those three things.What is your writing routine like?
Whenever I have time. Typically if I have time off during the work day, I'll do something relating to my hobbies. Could be writing, yes, but also art, planning, or organization. Really any time that I can find that I feel motivation. This isn't currently my full-time job and I don't wish to treat it like one. How long does it typically take you to write?
So far seems to be about 1 year for a first draft and 1.5 years for a final draft, with 2 years to get it to print. My poetry is much less consistent. Something something when my muse comes aroundWho are your favorite authors or inspirations?
Saying that all of my biggest inspirations are dead is a wee bit disappointing, but Terry Pratchett is gone. Pratchett was the very identity of what I think being more creative in the world of fantasy can result in. Pratchett was gift to the world and his death will forever leave the world a lesser place.However if we're speaking of dragon-centered books & authors, I like E.E Knight's Age of Fire series, though haven't returned to it since I was smaller, Seraphina by Rachel Hartman for its ironically well-written autistic-like characters, and the Wings of Fire books by Sutherland.I'm also a big fan of, if nothing else, at least the concepts of most of Kafka's works, and I greatly enjoy short form science fiction and fantasy stories. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, for example. Honestly several classic sci-fi short stories or novellas I'd include.Advice for other writers?

Anyone, so long as the reader can handle difficult themes and have an open mind. My books and writings do feature a mostly-adult cast, however.How can I stay up to date on future releases?

Besides streaming, I also sometimes dress up in fursuit, draw, read, and obsessively organize. If something interests me, I like the idea of trying it myself. I've also, in no particular order, done 3D modeling, game design, graphic design, and carpentry in the past. I also greatly enjoy studying history, though I'm unsure if 'studying', even for enjoyment, would be considered a hobby. I really like watching making of videos and documentaries to see the behind the scenes of things, even for films or games I don't particularly like, as I enjoy seeing the guts and inner workings of the media I enjoy. The same goes for authors and authorship, which perhaps makes sense why I find Kafka as a person more fascinating than Kafka's works by themselves. Unlike some, I find the idea of separation of the creator from its creation to be a modern, disgusting capitalistic notion, and the fact that such concepts didn't truly originate until the 20th century in an attempt to not feel guilty for supporting bad actors, I justify my position in that it is silly.Did you always want to write?
Unsure, but I think so. The earliest thing I remember writing for fun was a star wars fan fiction for an (at the time) non-existent episode seven, ironically also featuring Han Solo dying to his own son. I folded up the paper to resemble a tiny book. I was eight. I also wrote poems and short stories when I was in both middle school and high school, and my first experience reading my work out loud was thanks to my eighth grade English Teacher. Really I think I just liked knowing how things of sort and shape were made. In the case of writings, to know how a book or poem is made means knowing how its creator was made. So I suppose you could call me writing the ultimate behind-the-scenes tour of myself.Mailing list?
